Project: Police Dog Training Kennels, Hutton
Client: Lancashire Police
Product/System: Flexcrete Technologies Ltd - Monomix and Cemprotec E942
Size: 32 Kennels
Problem: The police dogs at the kennels have been scratching and biting their way through the concrete blockwork, making the kennels unsafe to house the dogs.
Solution: The loose and damaged blockwork was removed back to a sound substrate, before the profile was reinstated using Flexcrete Monomix repair mortar. The old wooden benches were removed and replaced with concrete benches. All the wall areas and the benched were coated with Flexcrete Cemprotec E942 to provide a hard, abrasion resistant coating.

Project: Walkers Crisps, Peterlee
Client: Walkers Foods
Product/System: Moisture-triggered Polyurethane Waterproof Coating
Size: 600m2
Problem: Walkers were undergoing an extensive refurbishment of the plant and production facility and as such immediately needed to address the problem of a leaky roof over the affected area. Leaks were caused by a failed single ply system; water was getting under the membrane and tracking to lower parts of the roof before dripping into the building. Previous patch repairs had failed to locate and resolve the problem.
Solution: Gables were brought in to look at the problem following completion of roof waterproofing at a shopping centre local to Walkers. A moisture-triggered polyurethane system was applied directly to the single ply with local reinforcement around the roof detail, such as upstands, bulkheads and gutters. This provided the client with a fully bonded 15-year watertight solution avoiding the need to strip off the roof exposing the completed refurbishment works beneath.
